About

Dr (Mrs) Mary Omolola Omosebi is an Associate Professor of Food Science and Technology. She holds a PhD degree in Food Science and Technology from Federal University of Technology, Akure. She started her lecturing career in the Department of Food Science and Technology of Wesley University of Science and Technology, Ondo State in January 2010 before moving to Federal University Wukari, Taraba State in 2012. She joined the Workforce of Mountain Top University in 2017.

‎She served as the Head, Department of Food Science and Technology of Mountain Top University, Ogun State between April 2018 and July 2023. She is currently the Director of the Ventures arm of the institution; overseeing causes that were championed by her / handed over to her such as the University bakery, water factory, amidst others. Dr Omosebi is also the pioneer Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has served and is still serving in various roles in the University system as head and member of committees.

‎Her research interest is in the area of food product development for the prevention and management of diseases caused by nutrition deficiency.  Dr Omosebi is a member of local and international professional bodies such as Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST), International Society for Tropical Root Crops (ISTRC), The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Nigerian Society for Immunology (NSI), The Nutrition Society, UK and Society for Endocrinology (SfE). She has attended several local and international learned conferences and workshops, presented a couple of papers at such conferences and has several published papers in reputable local and international journals. She has also won some research grants for specialised research in the area of Nutritional Biochemistry and New Food Product Development and has supervised a number of undergraduate and postgraduate students’ projects.
