About

Dr. Oreoluwa is currently an Associate Professor of English at Mountain Top University, Ogun State. Before joining MTU, she served meritoriously for over three decades in the Department of Linguistics, African and Asian Studies, University of Lagos, Akoka-Yaba, Lagos, where she mentored generations of students.

She is an alumna of two of Nigeria's foremost universities - the University of Lagos and the University of Ibadan.

Her research interests span Language Contact, Applied Linguistics, Lexicography, Language Endangerment, Language Learning and Language Acquisition*. She has published extensively in reputable national and international journals and has presented papers at numerous local and international conferences.

 

She has been a Guest Speaker at global conferences in Cairo, Egypt; Zanzibar, Tanzania; Maryland, USA; and Greenwich, London, UK.

She holds membership of many professional bodies, including:

· Former National President, National Association of Women Academics (NAWA); Member, Association of African Women in Research and Development;

· Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Onike Chapter; General Secretary, NIM Lagos State Branch;

· Member, Nigerian Institute of Translators and Interpreters;

· Member, Linguistics Association of Nigeria; and

· Member, Association of British Council Fellows, to mention a few.

 

She is a recipient of several prestigious awards, notably the British Council Fellowship Award, 1993, to attend the Summer Institute of English Studies, University of Cambridge, UK, and the TETFund Award, 2016, for academic programmes in Scotland and Germany.

She is multi-talented - a professional translator and editor, a teacher of English to speakers of other languages, a polyglot speaking six languages fluently, a gifted singer and a Pastor.
