Mr. Sunday Olajide Olabanji

I am a Nigerian geoscientist specializing in Sedimentary Geology, Geochemistry, and Petroleum Geology. my research interests include sedimentary basin analysis, organic geochemistry, hydrogeochemistry, petroleum systems, and geomicrobiology. 

My current research investigates the geomicrobial and geochemical characteristics of carbonaceous shale and associated waters in parts of the Eastern Dahomey Basin, Nigeria, focusing on microbial communities, organic-matter transformation, water–rock interactions, and biogeochemical processes. I am passionate about integrating multidisciplinary geoscience approaches to advance scientific understanding and sustainable management of geological and environmental resources.
