About

Professor Mba. O. Odim is a Professor of Computer Science at Mountain Top University, Nigeria, and Director of the University’s Information and Communication Technology Unit.

Professor Odim has over 24 years of experience in teaching, research, academic leadership, supervision, and mentoring. He has served as Head of the Department of Computer Science and in other leadership and administrative capacities at Mountain Top University, Redeemer’s University, and Babcock University.

His areas of expertise include Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Security, Algorithm Design, and System Modelling, with applications in cybersecurity, healthcare, and network management. He has contributed to several research projects  including the NHIS-funded Data Science and Medical Image Training in Nigeria (DATICAN) Grant (2023–2026), and the Redeemer’s University Research Grant on the Diachronic Evolution of English in Nigeria (HiCE–Nig) (2018– 2021).

He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin, MSc and PGD from University of Lagos and BSc in Statistics from University of Nigeria. He is an IBM Artificial Intelligence Mastery and Explorer Awardee. He is an alumnus of the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics, University of Chicago, USA and a DATICAN Fellow at the University of Chicago Center for Innovation in Global Health. 

Professor Odim is a researcher, experienced speaker, and mentor. He is a professional member of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Computer Professionals (Registration Council) of Nigeria (CPN), and West African Anglophone Quality Assurance Network (WAAQAN).

He is deeply committed to technological innovation, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and developing the next generation of computing professionals.
