Dr. OLADIMEJI ADEDOYIN BABATUNDE

Oladimeji A. Babatunde is an academic and researcher in the Department of Physics, College of Basic and Applied Sciences, Mountain Top University, Nigeria, with specialization in Atmospheric and Environmental Physics. His teaching philosophy is centred on simplifying complex concepts in Physics by connecting theoretical and mathematical principles with observable phenomena and everyday experiences, thereby helping students appreciate Physics beyond equations.

His research interests span boundary-layer and micrometeorology, air pollution meteorology, air-quality monitoring, low-cost atmospheric sensing, hydroclimatology, and climate–environment–health interactions. Over the years, his research has evolved from localized meteorological and environmental measurements to broader collaborative studies involving atmospheric observations, low-cost sensor networks, community-based air-quality monitoring, exposure assessment, and the evaluation of meteorological influences on particulate matter pollution.

He is particularly interested in research that responds to environmental challenges in data-scarce settings and generates evidence that can support healthier communities and informed environmental decision-making. His long-term vision is to build a strong atmospheric and environmental research programme, establish advanced observational and analytical capabilities, develop multidisciplinary research collaborations, mentor emerging researchers, and contribute to globally relevant atmospheric and environmental research from Africa.
