Profile

Prof. Gabriel Olukayode Ajayi is a Professor of Biochemistry and Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Mountain Top University, Prayer City, Ogun State, Nigeria. He holds B,Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc. (Lagos) and PhD (FUNAAB) in Biochemistry. He is an astute and inspiring teacher and researcher with over 22 years experience in University education. His research focuses on phytomedicine, natural drug discovery, medical biochemistry, biochemical and environmental toxicology. He investigates health-promoting properties of medicinal plants and bioactivivity of phytochemical compounds in managing non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, cancer, hypertension and nephrological problems, and also using medicinal plants as remedies for heavy metal poisoning. He has authored and co-authored more than 40 articles and abstracts in local and international peer reviewed journals. He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, British Biochemical Society among others. He is married with beautiful children and a grand child
